USS on Christmas Eve

At noon time on Christmas eve last year, Wallace, me and our friends touched down at Changi airport, freshly sunburnt from Phuket. Wallace and I flagged a cab from the airport and went straight to Resorts World Sentosa, luggage and all. You see, his dad had gotten us and the family VIP tickets for Universal Studios, and the date couldn't be changed. Anyway USS was open till 9pm that week, so we went, even though we were pretty tired and Wallace was having a mild hangover. Lol. It was Wallace's first time at USS because he's been in Australia all this while.

I didn't take many photos (my second time there and it was raining) but we did get to sit all the rides (express pass) including the new Transformers ride! 2 words to describe it: Damn Cool. It's not thrilling/scary like the Battle Star Galactica, but the graphics and the whole concept is pretty darn cool. Never seen anything like it before. Definitely a ride worth taking. (Btw that woman in the photo is not me. Too many people, I gave up trying to get a clear shot)

Wallace, his dad, Abbie, Meg and I took the BSG Human and Cylon back to back, after which Abbie and I felt kinda queasy. Meg and Abbie had already sat the BSG a few times before that and Meg still wanted more! Lol makes me feel old.

Wallace's dad recommended the Lights, Camera, Action attraction, which we had never been to before even though it was our second time there (Megan's third). It's not a ride but it's a special effects demonstration. It's quite interesting how they can create a hurricane scene right in front of your eyes! Be sure to stand in the front row (especially the right hand side) for a surprise :)

In the end we sat all the major rides like BSG, Transformers, Revenge of the Mummy. Caught the Waterworld show too. Before dinner, Wallace accompanied Meg to take the BSG Cylon again, whilst Abbie and I browsed in the shop.

For dinner we met back with Wallace's mum, brother and sister-in-law, and his dad ordered dishes to share. There was this humongous steak on the bone and it was ridiculous.

He's holding it by the bone by the way! Haha.

We managed to catch the 9pm fireworks on the balcony of the restaurant. Here's Abbie and Meg with the BSG in the background.

And the fireworks started! It was really crowded on the ground floor and people were cramming to get a good view. Luckily we were unobstructed!

I managed to get this pretty cool shot with my Canon's fireworks mode. Quite abstract huh!

When these spinning ones came on and the music softened, the crowd literally went "Oooh..."

Very thankful to Wallace's dad for the awesome day and privileges we had at USS, even though Wallace and I were really tired from our Phuket trip, and also extending it to my sisters as well. It was crazily crowded (I think about 20,000 people) and I would've fainted if I had to queue for all the rides or probably would've given up.

It felt so special walking around USS with the VIP Tour lanyard + Express Pass. They also gave us water, sunblock and a pin souvenir before we entered the park.

Not too bad a way to spend Christmas Eve :)
