Merry Merry Christmas

it's been a slightly warmer christmas in different ways this year. although i felt less of the christmas spirit myself, there was certainly more love in the air. :)

well, on friday night wallace brought me for the chocolate buffet at the fullerton hotel. wahaha it left us stuffed and almost falling into diabetic comas... we went for more than three rounds of chocolate. there was the chocolate fountain, the cakes, bread pudding (which was really good), grape soup (which was... interesting) and of course the part where you can choose different kinds of chocolate and they melt it in front of you with a little bit of milk. and tada! you get hot chocolate and drink down freakin chocolate!





phew, that was one fantastic dinner.

saturday was my christmas family gathering at my place. we didn't plan any games this year for once. but it was great nevertheless. mum invited wallace and got him to collect the turkey!

the next day was christmas eve. church service and then we went for lunch at newton.

then went home to change, went to CCIS (Celebrate Christmas in Singapore, for us it was in little india). it was raining lightly, and the ground was really muddy! my sneakers got all dirty.. anyway, the kkmc youth dance group performed! great job to jolyn, kegan, char, jon, shawn, jeremy and lianne.

went for dinner with wallace, darren, lixin and belinda at satay club at lau pa sat. i tried cow's lung in the form of satay! i actually prefer that to prawn. hahaha. anw, went to villa balli after that (don't worry i was strongly against me drinking) and we counted down to christmas!

next day went for christmas service.

after that was christmas meal visitations with wallace's family. break-lunch-nner. went to two houses and i was stuffed after that! turkey, ham, cheesecake... reached home at around midnight.

Life has been fairly eventful but good so far. been going out with my family, wallace etc.

this is a bit belated but congrats to ivan (mum's cousin) and angie on your marriage! i was priviliged enough to play the grand piano at the wedding dinner cocktail.

Phuket

back from my phuket holiday! i can't begin to tell you how fantastic it was. wallace wraps it up by labelling it "the best holiday of my life". many thanks to wallace (especially, for planning the trip and settling all the airfare and accommodation) darren, lixin, lihui and zhi sheng for making this trip such a memorable one that i'll probably never ever forget. :)

anyway, i shan't blabble and start with the story!



Day 1: Thursday
woke up at 4.30 am and went to the airport. flight was at 7 am aboard jetstar asia. when we landed, the person who was supposed to pick us up from the airport didn't show up, so we took a big cab instead. our destination was Patong Beach, and we were staying at Tatum Mansion. it was a small hotel/motel very near the beach. the rooms were huge and they were quite cheap! we had adjoining rooms too. one for girls, one for guys. each room has a bathroom, air con, a tv, and a DVD player!

so after settling in, we had lunch at the cafe next door and explored the place a bit. then we went back to change and headed for the beach! it was bright and sunny and the beach was really crowded. we saw alot of half naked ang-moh women. ugh. we even saw a guy wearing a thong! hahaha. anyway, the exciting part comes when we went parasailing!!! me, darren, lixin and lihui. it was amazing. the starting off was quite fun actually. where you're standing on the beach all hooked up, and the boat starts to move and you run as you lift off the sand. wow. and the view was fantastic too.

then we rented jet skis! 3 altogether, 2 people to one. so wallace and i went off and boy was it one of the most exhilerating rides of my life. we were going at full speed! with the wind through my hair and the blue waters.. plus the company.. whoa it was just - undescribable. oh and also not forgetting what happened when wallace and i stopped halfway on the jet ski that made it all the more unforgettable. ;)

well after that we just relaxed in the water and had lots of fun. :D

after going back to wash up, we went for dinner at one of the eateries, and then it started to pour! haha we ran back to the hotel and snuggled up watching a dvd. some of us fell asleep halfway, including me. haha. so that was day 1.

Day 2: Friday
woke up late (at around 10), had breakfast and collected the jeeps we rented! they were manual and had NO power steering. haha.

well we drove to phuket town, and on the way stopped by for some dunkin' donuts!

at phuket town, we went around shopping, buying lots of stuff!





then the rest went for thai massage while lihui and i continued to shop around (cos we were afraid of the massage. haha) when they finished we went for dinner and it started raining!

walked around a bit (i bought a purple shawl and lixin and lihui bought a bikini each) then drove home. when i reached home i realised i lost a fabulous pair of white pants that i bought for only $10. and to add to that i sort of broke the toilet bowl. :( that wasn't a very pleasant night. at least we didn't need to pay when they said they had to change the whole toilet bowl. but my white pants are still gone forever. oh well.

Day 3: Saturday
on day 3 we slept in again. had brunch, and then we decided to look for something relaxing to do. so we signed up for snorkelling! changed up and took the bus to the jetty. then we took a really nice and high speed (but bumpy) boat ride to Khai Island.

the beach was one of the most beautiful i have ever seen. the water was clear and blue, the sand was white and soft, the sun was nice, and the scenery was so pretty. haha wah this sounds so out-of-a-movie. but i don't know how else to describe it. look at the first photo of this entry and see how beautiful the water is!

at about 5 plus we caught the boat back and the uncle gave us pepsi in these really cute glass bottles! oh and i picked a shell from the beach as a souvenier.



went back to wash up. since it was our last night, we decided to dress up a little for dinner.

Day 4: Sunday
in the morning, wallace and i woke up early and went to the beach to snap a few more shots for memo. when we came back, the rest were still in bed! so after awhile we went out and decided to eat road side stall food for brunch! we were quite scared that we'd get diarrhoea after that, but luckily we didn't. there were flies everywhere and the dog was sniffing and hanging around our table for the leftovers. haha. but it was quite nice! the garlic pork rice. yum.

then while darren and lixin went horseriding, the rest of us walked around Patong in the sweltering heat.

at around 6 plus the driver uncle came to fetch us to the airport. on the way it started raining really heavily. but fortunately it didn't affect the flight. we went to burger king for dinner to take a break from thai food. oh and after that we bought more dunkin' donuts!

well the flight home was alright. reached home at about 1am plus? hmm i've got to say. this was one of the best holidays of my life, really. thank God for the trmendous fun i had with the great activities and the even greater company :) really wish i could go on another trip like this!

going to phuket tmr!!! i can't wait. although my mood was a bit dampened when my mum didn't allow me to bring the cam and the family's been stealing stuff away from my luggage for themselves...

anw, had dental today and then went shopping with my family. wallace joined us for awhile too. bought 2 tops and a new pair of shoes!

ok i gotta sleep now. waking up at 4am tmr. flight's at 7. coming back on sunday midnight! wheee! take care peeps!

The LOST: KKMC Youth Camp 2006

Lost camp was great! that's all i can say. haha. good work everyone! on the first day was just ice breakers and the night walk. we had to walk through the forest in ankle deep water, and suffer the scares from joce, kegan, shawn and wen. haha. second day was high elements plus rock climbing and abseiling. it was fun! hehe. oh and we had wet games too. which jon coped from ONECamp. haha. so fun. third day was Amazingly Lost, something like Amazing Race. it was around the Bukit Batok area, since the campsite was the Bukit Batok Home Team NS Adventure Site. thanks wallace for giving us directions and answers (even though you were competing against us) then at night was the finale where each group had to put up a skit. i was group leader of Lost 4! hehe i think the dancing sheep was quite cute. and wallace's one was just hilarious. mine had sound effects (provided by me) like the mission impossible song, and Chariots of Fire when the shepherd finally found his sheep. haha. oh and then was the video of Bunk Raiders!!! what happened was on the previous night, the camp comm went to play pranks on each bunk. there were 3 guy bunks and 1 girl one. they asked me to help with the girl's bunk one since i happened to be there. the plan was for me to try and wake everyone up, and we'd pretend that there was a rat in the bunk. so we went up, and i walked around crashing into everyone and hitting their legs to get them up, and the rest is history. all the girls woke up screaming and jumping around! except lianne who was just lying there looking blur. haha. the guys from the other bunk (which was quite far) could hear the screaming! it was hilarious! hahaha. then at the other guys' bunks, they moved jeremy from his bunk to the other one (but returned him afterwards), put an egg next to kevin (cos of his 'smooth' pick up line about the eggs...), and put a real saw on wallace's chest (saying that he's afraid of ethan the dinasaur. then they showed a vid of ethan crawling around trying to punch the camera. so cute! btw ethan's my fav baby boy! :D) haha well the camp was fantastic. got to know more ppl, esp the bb guys who don't really come to kkmc. thanks to my group, Lost 4! joy, brian, kevin, clement, daryl, hao kang and andrew our facilitator.

i intended to start packing for phuket today, but ended up sleeping from 12.30 am last night to 5 pm this afternoon. whoo hoo.

i can't wait for phuket!!!
