and i'll let my words be few... Jesus i am so in love with You

why do the holidays have to pass so quickly? there's so much to do yet so little time. haha, that sounds familiar. hmm, well on friday i went to hougang for the offeratory practice at randall's place. met faith and him for lunch at hougang mall. and we went on a 'shopping spree'! haha. bought 3 tops, 1 skirt, and 1 pair of shoes for under $20! lol. good huh. and we bought exactly the same things. except our shoes were a bit diff, and one of the tops were diff colour. haha so fun. so anyway practice went alright.

on saturday i got to dress up for rev kang's son's wedding. haha i don't know the guy, but it was quite a grand wedding. more than 500 guests. saw a lot of peple, including the family of my family doctors. (haha yea, the husband, wife and son are all doctors in the same clinic) my ex literature teacher (mrs dorcas ang) hmm, and alot of other church ppl too. oh yea, and pastor chiang's been posted to Aldersgate Methodist Church! :( :( :( i don't want him to leave! it's seemed like too short a time that we've known each other. oh wells, God has a plan for everything huh. i met the new pastor at the wedding. pastor chiang introduced us. his name's Gabriel Liew, from Barker Road Methodist Church. he's 10 years pastor chiang's senior. and according to pastor chiang, he's always smiling, and he's pretty happening cos his kids have blond hair. (??) haha. oh well. i really wish pastor chiang wasn't leaving though. hmm but at least i can still see him at school on mondays during chapel. haha.

haha oh man and there was so much food! and it was good too. they had this table with fruits (like starberries, cherries, kiwis, jackfruit) and there was chocolate for you to dip it in! like large bowls with a flame underneath. haha. well so after that jon came to pick me up from the church in a cab and we went to The Pines country club to write our testimony. didn't take us very long to type it out, then we walked to acs barker for Cantabile, mgs choir concert! great job guys! SYC was GOOD la. haha that's why they're the SYC. lol. oh and i met pastor chiang and his wife there again. they left half way at the interlude though. saw some teachers, phoebs! asyikin (who was supposed to go with me but ended up USHERING) oh yea i was supposed to be page turner but they didn't need one. lol. so luckily jon's friend couldn't make it and so he passed the ticket to me. hehe. shern! ah soh 1! ah soh 2! you guys were great! haha. :D

on sunday i went early for cherubim choir prac. i might be playing for them on the 11 dec cos the pianist might be going overseas but she's not sure yet. oh my gosh.. it was so embarrassing! i made SO many mistakes for the second piece! (the first piece was no problem cos it was chords. when i have to play form a score i freak out) there were times when i made a mistake and was completely thrown off track, i even stopped playing while they continued singing and i tried to get back on track! ahh. oh wells, i went home and practised for more than an hour. it's MUCH better now, thank God. so after prac i went for lg. the only girl there as usual, cos faith still refused to attend our lg and insisted on going to another one. and surprise surprise! we had a little party! eng kiat and uncle patrick figured it was the only week before christmas that we'd all be seeing each other. cos there's the mission trip, then ppl are going overseas and stuff. yea and next year we may not be getting them as our lg leaders again.. so yea. uncle patrick and aunty yin heng made food! yummy bacon and cheese quiche, and apple crumble. oh yea and chips with home-made dip! delicious. haha, and no surprise that faith decided to make a special appearance awhile after the food had come out.

after that was service. didn't have time to prac for the offeratory. i was super nervous before going up to share our testimony! but somehow once jon and i stepped up and took hold of the mic, God took away all my fears and anxiety, and i wasn't scared. so we shared our testimony about the Fun ONE Camp, donning our camp shirts! and then after announcements we did the offeratory. music wise it wasn't very great.. i was nervous for this too! if i were playing keyboard, it'd have been pretty alright. but htis time i was singing! haha well thank God the singing didn't turn out so bad, according to the rest. we sang the camp theme song, Undignified, as well as Let My Words Be Few, which we also sang at the camp.

so after service we had lunch ar BK, and apparently we got our meals for half the price. haha, cos we dared gloria to go up to the man and ask "can i have half a whopper for half the price?" then the guy said he'd give us the full meal for half the price since we were such a big group. haha. but in my opinion, the guy just gave us a student meal at $3.95. half price for a full meal was too good to be true la. oh wells.

there were more people behind actually. haha. i think there were like, 19 people.. so training was ok. after that me, jon, kegan, randall, brian, rachel, andrew and shawn went to PS to watch Noel. hmm, some parts of it were like UHHH..., and some parts were really heartwarming. i was crying a bit at one part! haha well but if you ask me, save your money for another show. like, Chicken Little? haha. psst, i've watched it already! lol.

so today and monday were spent at home. did a bit of maths yesterday, did a gong han today. nothing much.. so sianed of work. haha. although i haven't done much of it. :P mission trip training tmr. gonna go to Spotlight at PS before that to check out the face paints! haha.

ok gtg now. see ya!

sunburnt! ONE Camp!

the FunONE was fun indeed. came back from the ONE Camp organised by truth ministry on saturday. it was a youth leadership camp, but this year they decided to have alot more games. in fact, our only 'sermons' were the morning devotions that lasted less than 20 mins. i guess the purpose if this was that, although we may have all the biblical/spiritual knowledge in our heads, this camp was to get us to transfer all that knowledge to our hearts. in other words, learn how to apply it and put it into actions. so anwyway, here's how the camp went:

on day one, we had sort of an amazing race around sentosa. (the camp was held at the Scripture Union Campsite at Sentosa) then at night we had a BBQ dinner! oh yea i mey shern there! she was helping out. but she had to leave on the 3rd day for her sister's wedding.

Group 2 serving lunch on day 1!
from left: Timothy, Elaine and Agnes (our mentors), Jon, Julia, Me, Julian, Sam

on day two, we made kites and TRIED to fly them. i say again - TRIED. haha.

GROUPS 2's BEAUTIFUL kite. :D
from left: Timothy, Jon, Me, Sam, Julian, Julia, Elaine (Agnes, our other mentor's missing)

well anyway after that we had ball games...

.
that's group one and group TWO! facing off at foozball - human size.

yeah see my shirt? go TrX Youths!

had a bit of conflict with the other group we were playing with.. man i've never seen jon so fired up and agitated before. SCARY! hmm so after dinner we sorta sat down with the other group and apologised and stuff. after that everything was alright. so that night we had this quiz thing.. i won musical chairs for my group! and jon won chubby bunny for our group too! GO GROUP 2! btw, chubby bunny is a game where you have to stuff marshmallows in your mouth and say "chubby bunny". the one who can stuff the most marshmallows in their mouth wins. :D

say "CHUBBY BUNNY!" jon!

worship that night was really good too. i sorta shared with my group after that about my dad.. and all of them were great and prayed for me. :)

day 3 was the dirty games day! first each group had to draw out a slip of paper. on each slip said what sand sculpture we had to build, and we had to incorporate ourselves as much as we could into the sculpture! so our group got a CLOCK. we had 6 ppl, so we decided 4 ppl be the numbers 12, 3, 6, and 9. the other 2 would be the hands. i was 3, i think. so yea we buried ourselves in the sand till you could only see our faces. oh man. and it was HOT. it was like, 2 or 3 pm. i guess that's one of the main reasons why my face was so sunburnt. haha then we had sound effects so we went like "TICK!" "TOCK!" "CUCKOO!" "BIRD!" haha, i said 'tock'. lol.

yea it was so hot the picture turned out like this! the sand looks like snow. hahaha. that's me facing the cam, and jon's opposite me lying on the ground.

so after lunch was the real dirty games. there were 3 'smaller scale' ones and one big one.

we splat each others' backs with this.... remnants of chubby bunny.. :S

we played tug of war on this...

oh man, the other 2 games were very.. interesting... for one of them, we had to do the action of an elephant's trunk.. and spin with our finger on the ground 5 times. then, we'd roll across the sand to a finish line, once you cross that, the next member can go. oh my goodness that was the ultimate loh. we had to roll like, the length of a basketball court? after that i was naseaus for half an hour... :S

the BIG game was, well, big. we were supposed to try and steal other groups' flag. we had water bombs (with sea water) and a few starch bombs to throw at each other. haha. pastor norman wong threw one at me and the salt water got into my mouth! and then when i made a grab for another groups' flag, one of the guys (and he was quite big sized, mind you) tackled me to the ground! like, rugby style?? so i was like, pinned on the ground. that's how i got 3 big sand cuts on my left calf. but the guy apologised after that so all's cool. haha. oh yea then when we were clearing the beach of all the bombs, i found a startch bomb that hadn't burst. so i went to pastor norman and went "hi pastor!" and threw it at him! hahahaha oh man.. then after awhile he came to me and said "wanna shake my hand?" so i blur blur went to shake, and ended up getting my arm all slobbered with starch. AH. hahaha oh well it was all in the name of fun right? so that night we had a performance by Void. i guess it's some evangelistic band.. music was ok. couldn't really hear the vocals though. after that we had a really long and really great worship. haha i don't know how long it was, didn't keep track of the time.. well after worship they screened a movie. Hitch i think. but i was among those who chose not to watch it. instead we played truth or dare, and then jon's modified version of Snap. hahaha it was really good. there was one round where we played mrt station. so when you saw another person with the same card as you, you had to shout out "you have arrived at dee dee dee dee dee Chinese Garden!" chinese garden would be the other person's mrt station.. and must have the 'chinese' accent also. hahaha. oh and you've gotta have 5 'dee's too. lol. then there was also another person's name, schools, musical intruments and countries. haha i was Zimbabwe. then another guy, benjamin was Czcecho Slovakia or something. then there was Commenwealth of Independent States too! haha. then we played a few rounds of murderer. after that i couldn't take it - went to sleep at about 3.20 am.

last day, had worship.. revealed the scores.. group 2 finished FIRST! ... from the bottom... but nevertheless, winning isn't everything, deep down inside our hearts, we are still winners! (oh my gosh how CHEESY!) HAHAHA. they awarded an ipod nano and ipod shuffle to the 2 best campers!

the food at the camp was definitely better than the ones i find at normal camps. we had a kitchen for the aunties to cook. oh and i was the room ic for my dorm! wah the dorms are scary. first night there was a thunderstorm - the whole room was shaking! and the walls are so thin you can hear the ppl from the other side of the wall. not the room beside yours, but the one on the OPPOSITE side of the wall. haha. oh yes, and i met mrs magdalene tan (my p4 maths teacher! and abbie's teacher too.) and ms florence chang (mgs' christian ministry worker) at the camp. they were really nice. mrs tan gave me tiger balm when i felt nasaeus after the rolling... haha :)

oh and i can't forget how sunburnt i got. face and lips were hurting when i got back! well in short, this is how you'd describe me: red face (turned black by the next day) and red arms and legs. hahaha. my face is peeling! actually it's almost completely peeled. last night when i got out of the shower my whole nose had peeled! and before that it was still quite covered. haha yesterday at mission trip training faith and jina said my forehead looked like a brick wall (cos of all the cracks) hahaha. but i think it's cool. (well not literally cool...) cos i've never been this sunburnt before. :D haha sounds silly right? oh wells. but in conclusion....

ONE CAMP ROCKED!!!

oh yea, the camp theme song was Undignified. it's really fun!

Undignified by Matt Redman

I will dance, I will sing

To be mad for my King.
Nothing Lord, is hindering
The passion in my soul.

And I'll become even more undignified than this.
Though some may say it's foolishness but
I'll become even more undignified than this.

La, la, la, la, la! Hey!
La, la, la, la, la! Hey!

for the bridge at the la la la la la part, we jump and spin around with your finger pointing up in the air.. then at the HEY! you turn and face the front and point your hand out! hahaha it's super fun if everyone does it together..

jon wants to do it for offertory this sunday. not sure whether we can though, cos it's a fast song and will affect the flow of the service. but we've told pastor chiang we're sharing a testimony though. which reminds me - we've gotta write an article on it for KK Focus, our church newsletter. so fun! hahaha.

been really busy the past few days. when i came home from camp on saturday, i fell asleep on my bed at like, 5 pm and woke up at 1.30 am. then i stayed up for 2 hours to eat and bathe, then i went back to sleep again. hahaha. since last wednesday i haven't had a proper dinner at home. and i still haven't! man. and since sunday i've been coming home past 10 pm. except tonight. did some maths today. haha. mon and tues had mission trip training. and somehow after training when we'd go and have supper at the prata shop near church, we'd alwasy end up telling racist jokes.

I AM NOT RACIST OK!

(i'm just passing some jokes i heard at the ONE Camp!)

anyhow, it's been fun the past week. praise and thank GOD!!

hmmm

today's been tiring. was at school from 10 am to 5.45 pm. that's 7 hours 45 minutes. doing geog of course. man, our definitely-over-20 hours of work are just for a mere 2 day exhibition! it's not even a competition! OH WELLS. at least we're having a few good laughs now and then. and we're quite proud of our work too. :D haha, well mrs lim treated us to ice cream, and dragged me to bukit timah plaza to buy materials with her and deb. oh, and now val's got a phobia of the canteen (hello? 8 hours in the canteen for goodness sake) and i've got a phobia of sticky things. (don't ask me why) and i believe some of the rest might have a phobia of green. (not that they SHOULD.)

gotta go to school at 8.15 am on monday. then we're going to suntec (the exhibition halls) to set up. then my next shift is on tues from 11 am to 2 pm. must come and see ok! (our exhibition's really nice! not just ours, but other groups' as well)

anyway, enough about geog. yay, Survivor later! hmm. oh yea i borrowed new books on tues. still on my first one though. don't think i'll be reading next week cos it's so packed! oh wells. laters!

lalala

Friday:
went out for dinner with ge at marche. oh man i was so full! haha but the food was good. after that he wanted to show me a black dress he saw the other day at Chaos, which he said would make everyone nose bleed and stuff. haha. so yea, i saw it and went like WHOA. i think it was a halter, but i can't really rem. then at the wasit were like these slits. so it's like, your chest is covered , then you have the slits, and then it's covered again just above the hips. the back wasn't covered at the waist too. yep so i was like, NO i'm NOT trying that on! but in the end, as you can imagine, i was well, persuaded to. so i tried it on. but i didn't go out of the fitting room of course. yea like in a million years would i be allowed to step out of the house like that. haha. i tried another one on as well, which the lady suggested i try (i don't know why). it's like a toga style. as in, one shoulder kinda thing. that one wasn't bad. (so i came out la) haha. ohh and i bought marshmallows and a new pair of earrings! hehe.

Saturday:
woke up early to go to boss' (randall) house. got there, warmed up on the keyboard abit, then we started recording my song, I Want To Be. keyboards and vocals. had lunch, continued recording. oh and i learnt the intro of More Than Words! which i've been wanting to learn for quite some time. i can almost play it smoothly by now. yay! thanks for the lesson shifu. haha. then we decided to record You Are God Alone/ Pour My Love On You. it was WAY high. WAAAAAAAY high. i was stretching my voice alot... high E! but then again, i can't really sing. haha oh wells. but they're really nice songs anyway. i like the chorus of Pour My Love On You. oh so at around 6 plus we went down to play badminton. played for quite awhile, then we decided to count scores and wrap it up when someone hits 15 points. and so, i ended up trashing boss with a score of 15 - X (for the sake of not embarrassing him) hahaha. so we went up, recorded keyboards for You Are God Alone/ Pour My Love On You. dinner. then at 8:50 i went back. in the end i reached home at like, 10 plus. haha. oh wells. oh yea, we had ice cream for dessert! 1 tub for both lunch and dinner. hehe. yummy yummy. good brand, one of the best. haha. :D

Sunday:
it was pretty ok. worship was quite good. for mission trip training lyndon was talking abt the Lahu ppl. the culture and stuff. ahh i'm taking the flu jab next week! bleagh i don't want! i hate injections! :(( ok si i came back home.. and, uh, heh. actually i can't really remember what i did when i came back home. hahaha. whoops.

Monday:
finished my 3rd library book. didn't bother to read the last one since i didn't have time before the due date. oh, watched the Harry Potter 3 dvd. prisoner of azkaban. oh yeea. spent the night baking cookies. cos we had 12 orders for the next morning. ended up sleeping at 2 plus i think.

Today, Tuesday (well techinically it's Wednesday since it's already 1.27 but oh wells):
woke up at... 1.20? char was watching Harry Potter 3 (yea. again.) so i was like, oh wells, might as well watch it too. so i ate lunch in front of the tv and stuff. then at around 4 meg and i went to the library cos my books were due. (yes, just me and her. you can imagine what a handful that is. you and a 6 year old girl? haha not easy eh) well so we went to the big jurong east library. i borrowed 4 books, she borrowed 4. although i can safely say that her time to pick out her books were like, dunno how many times less than mine. yea yea, i'm a fussy reader.
so after the library we went to IMM. had a bit of trouble finding where to ake the shuttle bus but in the end we managed alright. reached there at like, 6. bought an olive-green halter at F.O.S. for $9.90! then we looked around a bit, then bought some food to eat. after that, on our way upstairs, we came across the playground and so of course meg ran there.. so i sat down at one of the benches and watched her. for like, half an hour? haha yea well, let the kid have her fun yea? oh, during that time, i sorta penned out some lyrics for a new song. no tune in mind, just words. i didn't have any paper and pen, so i just saved it in my phone. haha, i don't even know which is the verse and chorus. it's just lines of words. gonna type it out and save it in my com later. hmm, haven't had any inspiration since my dad left actually. which is quite some time ago. yea, haven't written anything since then. not even a poem or anything. well, i guess this is a start. hmm, come to think about it, i've only written one song so far. and that's I Want To Be.
anw, after the playground we went up to Daison, this jap store where everything's $2. that was at around 7.30. we spent quite alot of time in there (it's quite big) bought some stuff. then while we were trying to find our way down, we stumbled upon this area where there was this like, miny bazaar thing. seemed like it was from bangkok. they had food, clothes, accessories, foot massages and stuff. the cloths there were really cheap! one top for $2, two for $5. man then i saw these really nice skirts.. i wanted to buy one but i didn't have enough money! it was $15. i think the stalls there are temporary so i should be going there tmr with my grandma or something. yay! (apparently meg saw this sign that said "LAST DAY"... just hope it'll still be there tmr!)
so we got on the 9 pm shuttle bus back to the mrt station, then took train to bukit batok and then a bus home. haha it was quite a fun day. haven't shopped for clothes in quite awhile. oh wells, which reminds me - i haven't started on ANY holiday hw. like, NONE at all. grrrreat.

okok my mum just woke up and shouted at me. bleagh ok gtg now. :S

books

yesterday and today have been spent reading. yep, reading. trying to finish the library books i borrowed. they're due on monday. right now i'm at my 3rd one. i read one whole book yesterday ok! (and i woke up at 1.20 pm :P) yea it's been quiet (as in, i've been pretty quiet) sometimes my idea of relaxing is just snuggling up to a good book y'know. haha, it may seem strange, but sometimes i don't like to talk. hmm, i don't know why exactly. but yea, maybe some peace and quiet's what i need. haha, i think i spoke less than 10 sentences yesterday. seriously.

well anyway, had geog project meeting today. went ok. we're ALMOST done. man, why are we always almost done and NEVER done? hahaha. but oh wells, we just need to stick on a few pieces of paper and we're ready for the exhibition.
Enviro-Innovate Project Display:
15 & 16 Nov
Suntec Exhibition Halls 403 - 404

yay, going out on friday for dinner and the whole day on saturday. something more FUN at last! haha yea i admit so far i haven't made much effort to go out and stuff. but oh wells.
