AHHHHH!!! - attack of the hives -

I'VE GOT HIVES. not HIV (ohmygosh) but HIVES. you know, the huge itchy rashes. got them this afternoon on the way home. ohmygosh they're like SO itchy and it spread all over my body la. neck, back, waist, hips, arms, hands, legs. it even spread to my FACE just now. ohmygoodness. and they're like, HUGE. there's a whole patch on my waist/hip that's about the size of my hand. :((( and i have traffic duty tmr somemore! argh. i can't stand it!! it's so irritating and itchy and uncomfortable! may not even go to school tmr. see how it is la. i think maybe i'll go and see the doctor tmr after school or something.


anyways, mg choir came to kkmc today!!! haha they were really good, and super loud. cos the sanctuary was like, echoey and stuff. great job guys! :) after service hung around a bit, then my parents fetched shern and i to plaza sing. ate yoshi with shern, abbie and meg. then shern and i had milkshake from mos burger (hmm is that what caused the hives? looking at all the food i'd eaten [which wasn't much] that was the only thing i haven't tried before. so maybe it was. :/)


so we walked around and took hilarious neos. haha got sec 4 farewell prezzies! then dropped shern off and went home. so on the way home we stopped at beauty world for my mum to get some stuff. i was really sleepy so i fell asleep in the car. when i woke up i was feeling all itchy. ah! the attack of the hives. wow wee.


i hope they go away soon. man of all weeks why THIS week?? sighhh. there goes my 'happy' birthday. hmm but maybe they'll go away by then. hoping!!


oh wells. today was quite a happy day actually. (with the exception of the hives and the torturous itching. sheer torture i tell you.)

the test-filled 3 days are finally over. only 1 test next week - physics! hmm that's not good. :/ next monday's Founder's Day. i'm on traffic duty for guides. ah. speaking of guides, ytd was e last day for sec 4s! so sad to see e sec 4s go! Oriole's the best! it won't be the same without the sec 4s. :(





so cool. i'm almost done with my english newspaper report even though i only started today. :)

oh yes i almost forgot - my mum agreed to get me Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince for my birthday!!! yessss!!!


(haha actually she's alrd given me one of my presents - the ichthus tambourine.. and i know the other present - a bilingual bible. yes. bilingual. chinese and english. man, just like a dictionary. :P)


(oh and i know abbie's getting me a pair of earrings! i know cos i chose them out. hahaha. :D)

a mug-ful weekend.

ahh. this weekend was a mugging week! been doing some serious mugging. first time since, mid years. haha. oh wells. stayed up till quite late last night doing work + studying. 4 tests this week, half of which are tmr! and what's more they're bio and h.chinese la. and get this - we have to learn the whole sec 3 express chinese syllabus. hello? ppl learn it in a year, and here we have to learn it in like, 2 days?? (well for me i started only yesterday la.) crazy. and somemore we haven't been taught the ci yu. our tcher doesn't even go through them and she just prints one copy for the whole class. c'mon. 9 a4 size pages of ci yu, altogether 296 ci yus for us to learn. -_-II sigh. tuesday's chem test, wednesday's a maths. sigh again. plus, we have stuff to do (if it's not a test, it's hw. or both) for every single subject except lit. but who has hw for lit man? you know actually, it is every single subject since lit and ss are combined into one subject. sighh. stress!!! after this i still have to go and study bio. haven't finished studying for it! was studying acids bases ands salts plus ionic equations for chem just now. i kinda get it, but it's still very raw. oh wells.


ok sorry for that whole paragraph of ranting. heh, relieving stress? yea right. lol. anw, church today wasn't bad. went to lg 5 to discuss ichthus 4, which will be organised by lg 5 with the help of the saltshakers. they had some pretty good ideas actually. i think early bird gifts and prizes for the lg with the largest attendence, as well as the lg which brought along the most friends, are great ideas. after lg had a chat with steven (along with faith and kegan).. talked about some stuff.. and as a result we were late for service. :P oh man, the sanctuary was freakin cold la! i was freezing my, uh, fingers off! seriously la. my fingers were freezing cold. brrrr.


couldn't make it for the meeting after that cos i had to mug! sorry guys! :(


oh and pls pray for my tests this week! thanks so much. :)

oh my goodness. oh my freakin goodness. i cannot believe i have just sat for my first ever O LEVEL CHINESE ORAL. i mean, hello? this is the o levels! the examiners were two male teachers - mr bored and mr cut-off. mr bored was wearing a pink shirt. but he looked so pale and weak and frail that he might just collapse any time. oh, and of course he was also the one looking uber bored all the time. hmm, maybe it was because mr cut-off was drinking nescafe while he was drinking green tea. ;) mr cut-off obviously kept cutting me off in the middle of what i was trying to say. i was on the reasons, and then i jumped to consequences (argh, why did i do that without completing my reasons?!) then i went back to reasons again cos i hadn't finished it yet. so i was going to move on to the consequences again, but then mr cut-off just had to cut me off and ask me to go straight to the solutions. so i was like, ok fine. then i mentioned first the government, then the school, and then i was about to go on to the parents when he cut me off again! man. sigh well anyway i guess mr bored was a lil better. but he spoke so softly! i could barely hear la. oh wells. just pray that i did ok! so glad that it's over. phew.


well, so much for that. friday's listening! :S had geog test and emaths test today. both were quite ok but i was rushing alot for maths. oh wells.


hmm got quite alot of work piled up. physics, Geog, English, SS, Chinese. plus there're tests next monday, tuesday and wednesday. and not forgetting the online heymath AMaths test due on Sunday. bleagh.


Youth Sunday. woke up at 6. i don't even get up that early for school la! reached church at about 7:20. in general i think we played better for the 8 am service. i guess i was more nervous for the 10 am one cos that's the "main" service and the more major one that everyone goes to. oh wells, it was a really great weekend for me. :) praise be to God for guiding us through the offertory!


anyways, i just really wanna thank God for all He's done for me. He's brought me through a very difficult time and i'm really grateful for that. i just pray that He'll help me through it even now. sometimes we all have our low points. and i'm praying that God will help me through mine.

short update

tuition ytd. super funny la. mich, feimao and i were laughing like siao. hahaha. i brought my clorets again! then mich said feimao and i looked like we were on drugs cos we popped the sweets in at the same time, like throw back our heads kind of pop. haha and then i got out my anti-drug abuse collar pin and post-its! speaking of post-its, 3a4's been on a post-it craze. shern! haha. all thanks to mrs leong who asked us to get post-its to write notes for lit. now i have like, one whole zip-lock bag full pls. (not forgetting the ones we got for anti-drug abuse day)


going to kap later for lunch with the offertory-worship-team. :D i'm going early to do hw though. then after lunch we're going to victor's house to prac. Heart Of Worship! we'll be playing the offertory for both the 8 am and 10 am service. so excited! wah.. it's combined service please. the whole church. O.o


oh yea. speaking of kap, just went there on thurs for lunch too. had the bio DNA workshop at ngee ann poly. haha, man, the journey there was hilarious! we were late late late and were rushing rushing rushing.. and we planned to go through the back of ngee ann via SIM. so we were like, getting lost half of the time, and when we filed out of the lift (all 11 of us squeezed into the tiny lift) there were some students on that level waiting for the lift too. and we were like, filing out one by one.. and the line kept on going, so they were like "wah, so many arh??" HAHA! and when we FINALLY reached our destination, all of us looked as if we'd just had pe. goodness. the workshop was ok.. just that we'd learnt most of it in Life Science in sec 1. but oh wells. thanks val for the ride home! (we were walking circles and circles and getting lost trying to find her mum's car. i bet we burned alot of fats ;P )


ohmygoodness me. i CANNOT believe o level chinese oral and listening are NEXT WEEK!!! and i CANNOT believe that Geog test, EMaths test, AND o level orals are on the SAME DAY. O.O i'm so gonna die please. please God help me get a distinction!!!

LONDON wins Olympic 2012 bid!

LONDON has emerged as the victor! madrid, new york and moscow were kicked out of the running, leaving london and paris standing for the contention of the city to host the 2012 Olympic Games. in the end, the winner was announced and LONDON was the chosen one! (i was predicting either London or Paris would get it. ;)) haha oh man i sound like an over enthusiastic news reporter. i shall stop.


nothing much to post about actually. ok i'll start with sunday. went to church, service, Saltshakers meeting. went for lunch at the nearby coffeeshop and then went back to church for the meeting in the nice air conditioned musice room. :) after that me, kegan, randall and jon zhang went to PS with the intention of getting a thank you gift for kegan's aunts who very kindly provided the refreshments for Ichthus 3. in the end, we ended up watching A Lot Like Love (it was the show with the best timing for us) and after that we went to buy the gifts. we were seated in the first row. again. this is the what, second time already? and this time we couldn't lie down on the floor cos the whole first row was filled and we didn't really wanna lie beside other ppls' feet. :S my goodness. after that my head hurt like crazy. our necks were straining so much we had to stretch it every once in a while in the middle of the movie! so anw after that went to buy the gifts, and then had dinner at the food court, then went home.


OH YEA. i almost forgot. on my way home, the bus broke down. yes, the bus broke down. i'm too lazy to blog about it, but it was the first time the bus i was on broke down! and it was SCARY!


actually in a nutshell, sunday night was a pretty.. not-so-good day.. one of my.. lower days.. one of those, depressing times.. esp on the bus while i was thinking. (before the bus broke down of course) hmm. sighs. still not really, over it yet. but anyways.


it's been quite busy. i stayed back 45 minutes today after guides just to get mrs lim to sign my guidebook. -.- but at least i've got my bronze now! got home at 5:30 though.. luckily not much hw. ok gtg now. god bless!

ok put that post aside, i guess i'm getting over the post-holiday-syndrome bit by bit now. school's been better, just that i'm much more busy now.. i guess all the busyness sort of, well, numbs my emotions and stuff. i'm caught up in all this work, this whole monochromatic pattern of life, i don't get to think sometimes. i don't get to feel sometimes. all you do is just work, work and more work. all you think about is work, work and more work. where's the space? where's the freedom? a student's life. some people out there would rather be working in the real world than be a student now. stress. no matter, there exists that tiny little crack of air, a breathing hole, a small narrow path of hope - and that's what keeps us going. in fact, it's not just a tiny little crack - it's a huge field of freedom, of joy, of serenity, and that's God. He is my strength. He keeps me going every single day. every morning when i wake up i ask Him to help me - help me to pull through this day, help me to survive. and He's just the reason we all live, ya know? every day we live, every word we speak, every thing we do - it's all for Him. sometimes we should ask ourselves: is every thing that we do, say or think, pleasing to Him? is it centered on Him?
